September is here, and in North Carolina that means fall is on its way. Soon, NC will be awash in dazzling displays of yellow, red, and gold leaves against a crystal clear blue sky, and this will be the place to get up-to-the-minute information on where the best and brightest of autumn’s colors will be making their appearances.
Generally, NC’s fall color will make its debut at the highest elevations of the Blue Ridge, eventually making its way down the mountains into the Piedmont and onto the coastal plain. Two leaf reporters will be keeping track of fall’s spectacular march across North Carolina, and their reports will be posted here starting later this month. So bookmark this page and check back often, because every fall season is a beautiful one in North Carolina.
